Nancy began the practice of yoga in an effort to decrease the stress and anxiety she faced while participating in The Game of Life. She felt the peace and freedom that she achieved while on her mat could be incorporated in other aspects of her life. So she rolled the dice, took the detour and signed up for yoga teacher training. The game has never been the same since. All of her classes incorporate the principals of alignment with a strong focus on the breath, body and mind connection. Nancy’s sense of humor and compassion for her students is prevalent in all of her classes. Knowledge of the TV show Seinfeld is a plus, but not a requirement. Nancy received her 200 Hour Yoga Alliance teacher certificate from Onyx Yoga Studio in 2017 and Reiki Level I training. She is grateful to the many teachers that have inspired her along her journey, especially Shannon Elliott, Jane Lindemann and Gabi Percario for their wealth of knowledge, love and laughter that they have shared with her. Come play the Game of Life with Nancy and laugh, restore and renew!
Nancy DeMarco instructs the following:
Vinyasa Flow (Mixed Level)
Connect movement with breath "vinyasa" as the teacher guides you through traditional yoga asana postures sequenced into a "flow". Against a backdrop of great music, move through physical postures, usually starting with a sun salution series. Often included is chanting, pranayama (breathing exercises), yoga philosophy and meditation. All levels of practitioner are welcome at Mixed Level classes, although some knowledge of basic postures is recommended and those new to yoga should bring an open mind and an understanding that class will likely move at a rigorous pace.
HOT Vinyasa Flow (Mixed Level)
Vinyasa Flow yoga taught in a heated environment, 100+ degrees 40%+ humidity. HOT Vinyasa classes move through yoga postures and sequences at a rigorous pace. A prior yoga practice and knowledge of basic postures is assumed given the extreme conditions. Come prepared to sweat and move, although traditional yogic chanting, breathwork, philosophy and meditation are often included also. Bring a non skid towel for your mat, hydrate well prior to class and bring water. Also, dry clothes and/or coverup for after class is advisable. We recommend that true beginners should start in Beginner Basics (regular temperature) or Warm Slow Flow before diving into HOT Vinyasa.
