Ashley began practicing yoga in 2001 as a way of managing panic attacks. Since then, she has practiced at a number of different studios in and around Central Jersey, but truly found a home at Onyx in 2012. She completed her 200-hour teacher training there in May 2021.

Ashley believes that yoga is a discipline that should be for everybody and every body. Her weekend warrior tendencies have resulted in a number of injuries over the years, and, with each, she has learned more about how to modify her practice to remain pain-free. She encourages her students to listen to their bodies during asana practice and offers a range of options for each pose such that students of all levels and abilities can participate fully.

Ashley’s classes represent a mix of power and surrender. She emphasizes safety in each pose and believes that longer holds provide students with the time to find the optimal alignment for their bodies before moving on to the next pose. Her goal is for her students to leave class feeling that they were challenged without being at risk of injury.

Ashley is grateful for all of her teachers, past and present, and brings a little wisdom from each of them to all of her classes.
