Joy started her yoga journey casually popping into classes at a gym when she thought that she needed to “decompress” but still wanted to exercise. Around that time a friend introduced her to hot yoga, and she became obsessed with that for a long time before having her son in 2013. After a break with her practice, she was called back in 2015 when she began a long period of personal growth. Yoga was there, a calm constant, where she could work on her breath, clear her mind, and be with her thoughts without distraction.

During that time, her practice became less focused on the physical practice and provided her with the tools she needed to work through what was happening internally. It was in that time that Joy recognized how special the gift of a Yoga practice was to her and how powerful it could be. That period helped her grow and piqued her curiosity to dig deeper.

In 2019, Joy decided to jump further into her practice by completing her 200hr Yoga Teaching Training at Onyx in Warren, NJ where she gained an entire toolbox that she is so excited to share.

Joy’s classes, like Joy, are accessible, genuine, fun-spirited, and real. Joy creates a supportive environment, offering modifications on the intensity, so your practice can meet you where you are on that day. Joy is so very grateful to her yoga teacher’s past, present, and future.
