In a fast-paced and high-stress environment, the yoga classes on campus were my haven to relax, decompress, and reconnect to self.

I first found yoga in high school, attending occasional classes offered by my local gym. As an athlete, I experienced the physical benefits of yoga almost immediately, but when I moved away for college, it expanded to a more grounding and spiritual practice. In a fast-paced and high-stress environment, the yoga classes on campus were my haven to relax, decompress, and reconnect to self. The teacher at that time became my mentor and friend, sharing her knowledge and experiences so that I could take her place after she graduated.

Though daunting at first, teaching yoga quickly became the most inspiring and fulfilling part of my college experience. It allowed me opportunities to deepen my practice, share the benefits that yoga offers, and build a beautiful community on acceptance and connection. I knew then that this was just the beginning of my journey with teaching. I joined Onyx in 2020 and will be completing my 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training under Malati Elliot and Jane Lindeman in May 2023. I am excited to teach again and share the abundant wisdom from teachers past, present, and future.
